Meet Australian Renewable Heat Award winners for 2024! 

An exciting feature of our first Australian Renewable Heat Conference was the first Australian Renewable Heat Awards, which were presented on Day 1 of the conference, 25 September 2024.

 

The Awards will recognise the innovative work out there which is leading the transition to renewable heat and setting the benchmarks for projects that follow.

2024 Outstanding Biogas Project

WINNER: JBS Australia for its JBS Biogas Generation and Boiler Fuel Substitution Program  
 

JBS Australia has implemented major biogas energy systems at its Scone, NSW and Beef City (Toowoomba), QLD, processing sites. The project was delivered with a number of partners, including Energy 360 - Biogas by AGL, Northmore Gordon, AWITE and local contractors. The award was accepted by Samantha Lamond from Energy 360 - Biogas by AGL on behalf of JBS Australia.

2024 Outstanding Biomass Project

WINNER: Suntory Oceania for its Biomass Boiler Project

 

An innovative biomass boiler was installed in Suntory Oceania's new carbon neutral Swanbank Manufacturing Facility in Ipswich, Queensland.

2024 Outstanding Electrification Project

WINNER: Hoctor Refrigeration for its Industrial Ammonia Heat Pump Project

 

Hoctor Refrigeration worked with a number of partners to deliver a first-of-its-kind 1 MW heat pump installation at the Hardwicks Meats processing facility in Kyneton, Victoria, which has seen a 27,000 GJ annual reduction in gas usage.
